There are 2 ways of owning property in the Czech Republic either as a private individual or as a Czech limited liability company which in Czech is called an s.r.o.
SRO Owned Property
An s.r.o. has to file a tax return every year no matter if revenue has been generated or not i.e even a zero return must be filed. All years must have a return you are not able to have missing years, indeed your accountant can not process your accounts if they do not have the previous years results. The tax year runs January to December in the Czech Republic.
Privately Owned Property
An income tax return needs to be filed to the Czech Financial Office only if there was income generated in the tax year.
Property Tax Return
All registered property owners must submit property tax return regardless of whether or not the property is owned by an individual or a company. In the UK this is similar to Council Tax.
